If you don't like avian cuteness, this is not the blog--or the season--for you. Today's cuteness is courtesy of a local Killdeer family which resides in the gravel parking lot at the Montlake Fill (AKA the Urban Horticulture Center or the Union Bay Wildlife Area).
Oh, how I love killdeer. And how interesting, the last two times I saw them were in parking lots as well, one near Santa Barbara, CA and the other in Charleston, SC.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your posts, Clare, and keeping up with you this way.
So there they are! Thanks for telling me about them at Steve's b'day drinks party on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! & now we know exactly what they're protecting with all that crazy skittering. We have so many kildeers here, but I've never seen the young ones.
ReplyDeleteFantastic blog and photos, Clare.
